Moreover, while rejecting it the client criticizes you and your working style. In such situations, staying calm and positive is difficult, we all know it, but the situation gets worse if you utter something bad to defend yourself.

Staying calm and swallowing the criticism retains the client for you, but showcasing anger causes you to lose the deal and the client forever. Therefore, it is very important to stay assertive though it is difficult because that is the way it’s always done, professionally.

The ultimate way to overpower a negative situation is by maintaining a positive attitude. Yes, it is not easy and it requires hard training, but it is achievable. Initially, you may not attain success but with practice and training, it is possible.
Rule #1 – Control Your Reaction.
If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all – recollect this rule always in every negative situation. It will surely help you stay calm and encourage you to give an organized reaction. Still, if it seems uncontrollable then you can inhale and excel in a series till you manage to control your anger. Or you can count numbers in reverse order from 20 to stay calm. Some people laugh out loud to relax the situation. This technique helps to calm down the other person as well.
Rule #2 – Learn From All Your Pessimist Circumstances.
Every negative circumstance is an opportunity to learn and grow at your level. The great Albert Einstein once said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” Therefore do not channelize your energy in giving a negative response but in fact, try to do or say something positive indeed. It will relax the situation and will not make it worse.
Still, if you do react inappropriately then always make a note of it and the situation that caused it. This technique will assist you in identifying the triggers, so in the future, you can either avoid them or give a preplanned positive reaction. In short, let yourself control the trigger situations rather than allowing situations to control your actions.

For instance, because of common opinion, you label a person creating a negative mindset towards that person and hence working along becomes difficult. If you keep a broad mind and positive attitude by giving that particular person a chance then the stigma attached gets diluted and working along gets easy.

- Stick to affirmative thoughts only.
