About The Certification and Examination

Certification:

To get the ISA/IEC 61511 SIL Verification Specialist completion certification, you must have the SIS Fundamentals Specialist certification.
Participants are required to complete the Advanced Design and SIL Verification course and exam in form of offline or virtual classes.
 

Examination:

To obtain the certification, one needs to make a registration that includes the course and exam fees, allowing you to take one electronic exam and covering application processing costs. To register, choose one of the courses listed below and make a payment. An ISA/IEC 61511 certificate exam must be conducted within six (6) months after the certificate program's last day of required study. Certificate Exam 1 (ISA/IEC 61511 Safety Instrumented Systems Fundamentals) must be completed before progressing to Certificate Exams 2 (SIS Selection Specialist) and 3 (SIS Verification Specialist), which can be taken in any order. Applicants are notified when they have finished the required courses and are qualified to take the exams.

  • Exam time: 180 minutes
