Developed a Centralized Middleware and API Banking Framework for a Leading Co-operative Bank

A leading co-operative bank in India partnered with Vinsys to develop and monitor a technology framework supporting its API banking and core banking operations. The scope covered middleware, API banking services, messaging, dashboards, and scheduling capabilities, creating a connected environment for the bank's critical technology operations.

The solution addressed application integration as well as the operational requirements surrounding the bank's digital banking environment. By combining development, monitoring, and ongoing operational support, Vinsys helped establish a technology landscape designed to manage high-volume banking workloads.

The relationship has continued since 2020, with the Vinsys portfolio identifying increase in annual business from the account.

The Challenge

API banking operations require dependable communication between applications, banking services, and the financial core banking system. At the same time, supporting systems must handle messaging, scheduled processing, and infrastructure monitoring across a high-volume banking environment.

The bank therefore required capabilities to:

  • Connect applications and banking services with the financial core banking system
  • Support API-driven banking operations
  • Process high volumes of daily transactions and messages
  • Manage scheduled and batch-based activities
  • Provide visibility into infrastructure and system operations
  • Support the technology environment through ongoing operational management

The combination of these requirements called for an integrated approach covering both banking integration and the supporting operational ecosystem.

The Solution

Vinsys developed and monitored a comprehensive set of services addressing the bank's integration and operational requirements. The solution comprised:

  • API Banking Services
  • Centralized Core Middleware for the financial core banking system
  • Messaging and Email System
  • Scheduling and Batch Management
  • Dashboard and Infrastructure Monitoring

The centralized middleware provided the integration layer for the financial core banking system. API banking services supported application connectivity, while messaging, scheduling, and monitoring components addressed the operational requirements surrounding these services.

Implementation Approach

The implementation connected the financial core banking system with the required applications and services through centralized middleware.

API banking services handled application integrations, while the messaging and email framework supported communication workloads. Scheduling and batch management coordinated recurring processing activities, helping organize jobs that required execution at defined intervals or as part of batch operations.

Dashboard and infrastructure monitoring provided visibility into the technology environment, allowing operational teams to track the status of critical components. Vinsys also established an ODC and O&M Center operating 24×7 to manage and support the environment on an ongoing basis.

Outcomes

The resulting environment supported substantial banking workloads across services, transactions, and messaging.

The engagement recorded:

  • 500+ services
  • 13 lakh messaging hits per day
  • 2 million transactions per day

The integrated framework brought banking connectivity, communication services, scheduled processing, and infrastructure oversight into a coordinated operating environment. This provided the technology foundation required to support the bank's high-volume digital operations.

Before vs After

Before:

Banking integration, API services, messaging, scheduled processing, and infrastructure monitoring represented multiple technology requirements that needed coordinated management across the banking environment.

After:

A centralized integration framework connected the financial core banking system with API banking services and supporting capabilities for messaging, scheduling, dashboards, and infrastructure monitoring.

Conclusion

The engagement demonstrates Vinsys's capability to develop and operate technology environments supporting complex banking integration requirements.

By bringing API banking services, centralized middleware, messaging, scheduling, and infrastructure monitoring into a coordinated technology framework, Vinsys supported the bank's requirements across integration and day-to-day operations. The centralized middleware connected the financial core banking system, while the supporting services addressed communication, scheduled processing, and infrastructure visibility.

The scale of the environment further reflects the operational demands addressed through the solution. With these capabilities working together and dedicated operational support in place, the solution provided a structured technology foundation for managing the bank's high-volume digital banking operations and ongoing integration requirements.
