About The Examination

You have 3.5 hours to complete the 150 questions in the certification exam (130 operational and 20 pretest questions). Randomly selected items that are crucial for statistical analysis but do not count towards the final score are included in the pretest. Examinees are required to answer each question. Every exam has a point range of 200–350. A passing score is 300 points or more, whereas a failing grade is 299 points or less. Exams are graded using a scaled scoring system. This method ensures that passing requirements are the same for all exams, regardless of their challenges. By attesting to an individual's manufacturing competence and, implicitly, the manufacturing expertise of an organization, a CPIM certification fosters trust and confidence. This recognition significantly impacts manufacturing organizations, sometimes leading to higher responsibility and leadership positions.
