What is the PMP exam pattern?
The Project Management Professional Exam consists of 180 questions and the duration for the exam is 230 min. The exam is divided into 3 parts. After answering, reviewing, and submitting the 60 questions, one can avail a break. Next break is allowed after next 60 questions answering, reviewing submitting. Total break time allowed is up to Ten minutes
How much time is required to prepare for clearing the PMP exam?
Preparing for the PMP exam is an individual effort and completely depends on one’s dedication and efforts but definitely takes more than a couple of weeks to get through. What question types are in the new 2026 PMP exam?
The 2026 PMP exam includes multiple-choice questions, case sets (a scenario followed by 3–4 related questions), drag-and-drop (sequencing, matching), graphic interpretation (charts, network diagrams, schedules), and matching questions. All question types test applied judgment, not memorization.
Should I take the current PMP exam before July 8 or wait for the new exam?
If you have already invested significant preparation time and can schedule before July 8, taking the current exam is the recommended path. If you are just starting, begin with the 2026 ECO and PMBOK 8 materials and target a September or October exam date. Both paths lead to the identical PMP credential — your employer will not see which version you took.
