T-Foet Training Course Overview

The Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training (T-FOET) program aims to fulfil the need for further offshore safety and emergency response training for those in the tropical offshore oil and gas sector. Notably, the purpose of this training program is to review the theoretical and practical skills acquired throughout the Tropical BOSIET. The four primary areas of study are firefighting, basic medical knowledge, marine survival, and basic safety. The escape from a helicopter after ditching is a specific area of attention.

Vinsys uses a dynamic combination of teaching techniques to guarantee a comprehensive learning experience. Through practical experience with essential firefighting equipment and self-rescue procedures in situations with reduced or entirely blocked sight, learners will apply their theoretical understanding to real-world scenarios. Practical trainee engagement, exercises, and conversation in a simulated working setting make up 90% of the T-FOET course delivery method. The remaining ten per cent is discussed in a classroom as theory. Through written and/or spoken assessments and hands-on exercises, trainees will clarify, illustrate, and quantify their knowledge, comprehension, and competency. The T-FOET aims to enable participants to show, in a simulated setting, that learners can employ safety gear and adhere to protocols in anticipation of and during emergencies.

Course Objectives

For the Tropical Further Offshore Emergency Training course, the following are the anticipated learning outcomes:

Explain in a realistic setting that you can operate safety equipment and adhere to protocols in anticipation of and during helicopter crises; in particular, they should demonstrate how to exit a helicopter after ditching.
Ensure you can operate essential firefighting tools and perform self-rescue procedures in conditions where sight is severely limited or obstructed, such as in smoke-filled environments.
Demonstrate that you are capable of administering simple first aid.

Eligibility Criteria

Those possessing a valid (up-to-date) OPITO-approved BOSIET, BOSIET (with CA-EBS), T-BOSIET, FOET, or FOET (with CA-EBS) certificate are eligible to take the T-FOET.

Medical Entry Requirements

This course training exercises may include physically taxing and possibly distressing components. All staff members who participate in these events must be able to participate altogether. So, before learners participate in practical activities, centres must ensure that they possess a current, valid offshore medical certificate

What distinguishes T-BOSIET and T-Foet from one another?

The T-BOSIET refresher is another name for T-FOET or Further Offshore Emergency Training. Your BOSIET certificate is only suitable for four years, after which you must take the required FOET course to extend its validity for another four years.
